The visitor hotline provides assistance and information; for an immediate emergency in Japan, call the relevant emergency service directly. These short emergency numbers are for use inside Japan.
Give the address or nearest identifiable station, building or landmark, what happened and whether anyone is injured. If you cannot explain your location, show a nearby staff member your map and ask for help contacting the appropriate service. Keep your hotel’s address available offline.
Use JNTO’s emergency guidance and safe travel information for current resources. For consular help, contact your own country’s embassy or consulate; for insurance assistance, use the number on your policy. Neither replaces local emergency services.
